  • that is the most horrifying sandman I have ever seen...I wouldnt be able to sleep after seeing that thing...

  • Those angel bears things were flippin' creepy too. This has got to be the scariest version of Hansel and Gretal ever, what with angel bears and mutant midget sandmen roaming around the dark woods, preying on lost little kids.

  • people say it's scary, but actually when i were there, people laughed when sadman appeared. I think it's different when you seeing it live. Kind of cute actually.

  • @magrdad That's why they conjure (or pray for) so many angels. They look really scared during the Abendsegen, so in a weird way it works. ^^

  • Was an den beiden so schön ist, ist dass sie der Dynamik des Komponisten folgen. Beim piano singen sie piano und nicht ein mehr oder minder plumpes mezzoforte bis forte wie etliche Stimmfetischisten es tun

  • I wonder what Engelbert Humperdinck would have said. I think this Sandman is terrible - looks and voice. Actually this opera was written for kids and I think Humperdinck didn't want to scare them with the Sandman. This one does. Don't know who would come up with such an idea. Diana Damrau and the "Abendsegen" are brillian though.

  • DANKE DANKE DANKE ich liebe diese Oper immer noch
