Not tonight dear, I have an itch

this video features all four of our turtles which include three female 3-striped mud turtles and one male 3-striped mud turtle. Muddy is in a scratching mood and spends most of the time in this video scratching her shell under some mopani wood while Romeo tries and tries to woo her, alas his advances are rejected, at least by Muddy. The other two females are Esther and Fern.

How often do you buy plants? or do they just survive.. and do you inject co2? Buy the way your turtles are awesome if you ever get any babies you should keep one at least.

@Remydog145 No, I don't inject CO2. Some plants live a long time, some don't. I am no plant expert, I buy them as needed. The moss does the best.

@Bauribob How do you do water changes with all of your ghost shrimp in the water?

@tinytimtrack I drain and refill the sump twice a week, nothing is drained from the main tank. If I did remove water from the tank itself, I would use a sponge filter to protect the fish/ghost shrimp.

Did fern get eggs? Or did nothing come if the mating?

@everydaysaholiday82 Fern has laid eggs twice, both times she needed an injection of oxytocin to stimulate laying the eggs. Hoping she will not always need the extra help. Possibly suffering some neurological damage from her run-in with a car.

@yodiel100 I'll try. I have a new female mud turtle in the tank, a rehab, want to release her as soon as she is ready, but we may keep her. Just not sure. Will include her in a new video.
