  • COOL!

  • These demos are great. It singlehandedly taught me how to play Doom properly. I spent several years trying to imitate the guy's (John Romero maybe) movements

  • @breadrack Ain't it funny how most people remember the specs of the PC that they first played Doom on? Mine was a Packard Bell 486DX2/50 w/4Mb RAM, a 450Mb HDD, a 14" monitor, an Aztech Sound Galaxy SB-clone, and an extremely generic SVGA card..

I'm not even sure of the specs of my current PC, and I built it myself...PC technology is just too fragmented to keep up with nowadays, it's not as simple as it was in the '90s :(

  • this was the 1st PC game i ever played on my OWN computer, got it with the sb16 multimedia kit (2x reveal matashita cd drive, sb16 isa card, cheapie 2$ speakers... and 2 cd's of shareshit)

Man, if it wasnt for freebie episode of doom and other games in shareware format i dont think i would have bothered with computers. To this day there is nothing to match the likes of DOOM.
