Visionary Leader Sees Hope for World Peace

Marshall B. Rosenberg, Ph.D., author of the internationally acclaimed Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life, and Speak Peace in a World of Conflict, has taken up where Gandhi, King and other past visionary leaders for peace left off.

An internationally renowned peacemaker, Rosenberg's credentials rank him as one of the foremost new leaders for world peace. His visionary communication process, Nonviolent Communication (NVC), is the cornerstone of what global leaders, educators and beyond are identifying as the missing link to the solution we all seek.

Viewed through NVC eyes, all anger and violence - both in the world at large and in our own personal lives - is a counter-productive attempt by people to meet their needs.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. It meets my need for comfort and growth to be able to watch this!

  • Yes it can be challenging for new practitioners, yet when the intention is really for authenticity and to connect with the speaker, the words if offered flow out naturally and easily. Many times I don't need the words as the intention is felt by the speaker. When you do offer empathy verbally, try not to use need but maybe value, like such as: Do you want more confidence using NVC?

  • Dr. Rosenberg has trained many to use nonviolent communication to ease conflict across the world--and his work has taught me how to have the most healthy connections in my own life. Get his book, it's a quick read and may help change how you view your interactions and those around you. It may feel awkward at first, but the main thing is if your intention is really to understand the other, and have them understand you, that intention is what comes through. Marshall is an inspiration!

  • @mkahju the problem i have with non-violent communication is the communication part. How to formulate the proper sentence without sounding sarcastic or obtuse.

  • By using NVC skills and consciousness, the violent situation I was involved with last week was calmed in 2 minutes by offering the other person empathy and then he was able to hear me. I don't theorize NVC yet really practice it daily. It does work in my life to bring peace and harmony, quickly and with quality. thanks always to Marshall..

  • Marshall shows us how to give respect for basic human dignity. We all have needs and are compelled to respond when our needs are denied. Due to modern technology, we now have the capacity to deal effectively with poverty. By utilizing the techniques of nonviolent communication, as poverty gradually falls away, we will chip away at other roots of war. Nonviolent communication is essential as we move towards an international society to save our planet.
