  • @ObbytheTrainhopper and probably we wont see anyone as good as Hank, and Johnny again=( So we should love and enjoy this music, because this is as great as music ever will be=)

  • Man, no other man can sing this song like Johnny Horton can...

Trust me, I've been looking for other versions of it for about 3 months now.

  • Great Rockabilly Version

  • This is great classic Johnny Horton, no one can take his place in the hole he left in music with his early death! But his music lives on!

  • Do you know who is playing guitar on this? Tommy Tomlinson or perhaps Grady Martin?

  • Incredible voice live

  • Everytime I discover a new song from Johhny, I instantly love it, because all of his songs are great, there is not one I don't like!

  • @ObbytheTrainhopper I couldnt agree more =) Horton makes it swing=) hehe

And like you say its all personal taste=) They are both legends in my world, and i would say that the best Hortons song is Battle of new orleans. i wish there where talent, and real feelings in todays country music, but the most of it is rubbish, and i wonder what does it take to be a star today?=D If u ask me i say good looks and good connections. Thats why we never see REAL music today,

  • @MrStonedonweed Well, of course you can't argue with Hank Williams- he's THE man - but I still think Johnny Horton can get you more into the rhythm of this song better than he can. Just like Horton can't get you going with Rock Island Line as well as Johnny Cash. I don't know; it's all personal taste, right? Either way, both of them are REAL men that play REAL music.

  • @ObbytheTrainhopper Well i dont agree, this is a great version =) and i love it, but this song with ccr, and great ol hanks version is better =) U cant argue with that=) hehe Atleast Hank has a better version even if this is great=)

  • You're right. They don't make em like Horton anymore. Its sad what country music has come to now days.
