Homemade box turkey call I just recently made.

This is a home made turkey box call I just recently finished making. I'm just testing it out in the video to see how it sounds. It sounds pretty good and I'm very happy with it but I'm going to tune it some more to get more of a raspy sound and make it less high pitched. Its a double sided box call so each side makes a different tone. It sounds fine the way it is but I would prefer to tune it more and make more raspy sounding its a little to high pitched for my liking. There a lot of fun to make though and make the hunt more interesting using home made turkey call.

The lid is made of Cherry and the box is made of Ash.

I'm working on it and agree with you. Sounds a little to high pitched for me in the video. I'm going to tune it and do some sanding to get more of a raspy sound. It was just an experiment one I just completed before I made the video and does need tuning and tweaking.

when ur tapping it make sure u tap it inline with the finger holding the paddle but anyways great call

just a tip for ya when ur tapping it make sure u tap it inline with ur thumb to make the right sound

Great job on the call. The ones I have made sounded deep like a gobbler. I ended up shallowing the box and thinning the lid. The way the grains run are a key factor. Good luck.

It still doesn't give you that true hen sound. I think it needs a bit of tweaking!
