eric version of a fats waller song -
Eric Patrick Clapton, CBE (born 30 March 1945) is an English blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter. Clapton is the only person who has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times; as a solo performer, as well as a member of rock bands The Yardbirds and Cream. Throughout his career, Clapton has been viewed by critics and fans alike as one of the most important and influential guitarists of all time, Clapton was ranked fourth in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" and #53 on their list of the "Immortals: 100 Greatest Artists of All Time". In 2010, Clapton was ranked #4 on Gibson's Top 50 Guitarists of All Time.
Although Clapton has varied his musical style throughout his career, it has always remained grounded in the blues; despite this focus, he is credited as an innovator in a wide variety of genres. These include blues-rock (with John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers and The Yardbirds) and psychedelic rock (with Cream). Clapton's chart success was not limited to the blues, with chart-toppers in Adult contemporary ("Tears in Heaven") and reggae (Bob Marley's "I Shot the Sheriff"; he is often credited for bringing reggae and Bob Marley to the mainstream).[6] Two of his most successful recordings were the hit love song "Layla", which he played with the band Derek and the Dominos, and Robert Johnson's "Crossroads", which has been his staple song since his days with Cream.

  • I think it's great that Clapton plays this old blues/jazz songs. Great songs with a great feel and tone. I personally think it's kind of lame that someone in his 60's still tries to be a guitargod. People of his age and skills should go back to the roots, and Clapton understands that.

I still wish Clapton made a cd with Buddy Guy...

  • thanks clapton..... for doing some great quality music still keep on keep it on !!!!

  • i find it wonderful to see clapton on a gibson again

  • @MrPieterWittenberg There are MANY famous musicians that play in their 60s, 70's heck Tony Bennet of 3 generations ago is in his 80's and singing still! Good for them!

  • but this version is good too

  • remember this song was not that he was who composed the first to sing this song was Fats Waller

  • Sounds like they hired the drummer from the local Salvation Army band. Other than that, suprisingly charming.

  • @renzorocker1 Cool

  • @MrPieterWittenberg i personally think that clapton can do what he wants with his life and if he still playin' rock or some "guitar god" music i will respect him, he is not obligated to follow the standard way of musicians by takin his music to the roots...

also i love this song and i think that he should make a cd with Buddy .)

  • does anybody the chords of this song?

    Clapton is truly GOD!
