Nice layout and locos. Thumbs up! :)
-
Wood fired, rare in miniature live steam but it's good.
-
hi all the tip is the loco is fired on wood first then coal is added slowly through the firing process ps i drive the locos in bunbury w.a.

The engine is magnificent!
-
The reason i asked that was because everywhere I go, wood for fuel is always said to be the worst fuel choice because of the low BTU level. I'm considering switching my 0-4-0 to solid fuel coal/wood!

Beautiful engine!

Why is the drafting fan used?

@SARYx141 In order to get the fire going... ;-) It is removed as soon as there is steam pressure for the blower.

Im suprised wood can make a hot enough fire to maintain steam in such a large boiler. Large fire box?

You know, even some of our full-size engines were fired with wood!

No, but it could be. It's just a pile of planks, but there are full-size tracks behind it...
