A vintage science film I found from 1975 that attempts to convince Americans to use the metric system. It is 2011 and we still haven't converted! Life would be so much easier with ONE system of measurement.
@ALANLEEY Unpatriotic? Just because America uses standard measurement, that doesn't mean it's automatically superior to everything else. Did you know that the US Military uses the metric system? You also have to learn metrics if you want a career in nursing or medicine. If you'd take the time to learn the metric system (which US will switch to in the future like it or not), you'd see it's much easier. America's decision to reject the metric system was downright stupid. I say that as an American.
And yet you're still using a system developed by the roman empire(which by the way to all you religus people who claims metric is satanic believed in theire own gods not the Jewish or Christian), converting to the metric system would in the short term create lot's of jobs and in the long run not only save you but also make you alot more money.
Isn't that your so called American dream to get rich?
@SolarizeYourLife When the USA hosted the Olympics on numerous occasions, the unit of measurement used was always the Metric system, for both weight and distance. I'm also assuming the temperatures given during the Olympics are always in Celsius degrees.
Yes, America is wasting and losing a lot of money because it refuses to use only one system, Metric. It is pretty crazy, you go in any machine shop tool crib and there is a wall of Imperial hardware and an wall of Metric hardware, and of coarse two sets of tools in Imperial and Metric. What a Waste, but that is America for you.
