Jazz trumpet player Cullen Knight "Blowing The Blues" cool live Jazz with cool people at "Dennis Swing Club" Hamburg, Germany - (April 18, 1984, about 1:00 am) Cullen's trumpet style is a product of the Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Clifford Brown school of jazz with a unique touch. This blues is warm and tasty, and features: Cullen Knight - trumpet, Dennis Busby - piano, Earl Dawson - bass, Harold Smith - drums. How cool can you get?

The other day one of my students asked me -- what was going on in my head when I was playing that "Blowing the Blues?" Well, first of all it wasn't the chord changes - you have to know them, but to me they're nothing more than a canvas to work with; for instance, on the 9 bar of that blues I played a 3 bar G diminished chord run -- it's not what I played, it's what I said: "each time I see your face I go crazy and out of my mind, (bar 1) that's right baby, yea ... " CHECK IT OUT!
