    Nexus 7 is affordable and android

    iPad mini is durable and has tons of apps (though wait for the 2nd gen in march)

    Personally, id buy the mini but thats just my opinion, i think the price is worth what you get and id definitely trade my iPad 2gen for a mini

    It looks very much like a niche product. I've heard Samsung's primary market was their own South Korean market, where they carry tablets around everywhere they go. It's not odd to be holding a full sized tablet, and I think the note 8 was created to take some market share away from the iPad Mini, which is extremely popular in SK.

    It seems strange to me that Sammy would release this a couple weeks ahead of the GSIV. With the design inspired by the GSIII I would have thought it better to wait a few weeks and release this product with the GSIV design. It's obvious that a Note III is on the way too.

    It is light, easily shaped, strong, and inexpensive plus its better at adsorbing shocks. This leads to different products due to it's proprieties unlike aluminium so yeah the product I would want likely wouldn't come with such a materiel as aluminum as it doesn't share all the properties of plastic.
