American English is overwhelmingly sub par to the Romance Languages.... I mean it's so easy to demonstrate too: Just say the ugly sounding word in English (American English only as we all know British English is much more soothing and beautiful) and then compare it to its Romance counterpart, Voila!!! See!!

note: As someone who speaks both American English and a Romance Language fluently I'd like to point out to Miss Amy Walker that a Language looses it's glitz and glamour once you speak it for an extended period of time. Your musings on the putridity of English sounds probably comes from you having grown up speaking it. Every Language is beautiful in its own right and that beauty come from how the individual chooses to use said language; not in the words themselves.
