  • Do you play with a single bass pedal because that's just how you roll or what?

  • Yes sir. lol...Inspired mostly by Sir Zach Hill of Hella. I'm more impressed by upper body work rather than feet work. Thanks for the comment.

  • After a long while of thinking I've decided if I played with a single pedal the way you do my leg would explode and my pedal would say "fuck this shit."

I'm pretty content with not using as much skill to keep steady fast beats. Doesn't matter anyway though XD I'm not the drummer. The drums are intense but I still prefer the bass.

  • Nick5379....if only you lived in sa...my band Chaos Minute is looking for a bass player.

  • Thanks :D.

  • Thelaofkazi....I agree with you 110% with everything you said.

  • Agreed, although drummers that only use 1 pedal usually sound better to me, they seem to use less predictable foot patterns, making more use of the hi-hat pedal. Although that's not saying that people who use double bass can't use their hi-hats in creative ways, or that some don't, its just that instead of using the double to expand their drumming, they just use the double bass and forget about all of the other things that can be done with the left foot.

  • Meh, I'm probably not good enough. That would be pretty awesome though.

  • zach hill, hella, the locust.

    you are a winner.

  • what do you mean 'pretty easy to keep a fast constant rythm', are you saying playing swiss triplets or accented paradiddles on double bass is pretty easy? might be for you, but I'm still caught in that learning curve.

Just cuz a bunch of hoohaws only use straight 32nd notes on double bass, does not mean thats all there is to two pedals.

  • woahh dude, that was intense, and i agree with you on the single pedal thing, recently i was having a play on my pals double bass pedal, and its pretty easy to keep a fast, constant rhythm with it, no real talent needed for it. but yeah 5/5 for this!

  • u know your shit son
