"See See Rider" (aka "C.C. Rider") was written in 1924 by Gertrude "Ma" Rainey and Lena Arant and first recorded that year by the blues giant "Ma" Rainey. The song has since become a blues standard in many versions one of the more famous recorded by Chuck Willis in 1957 as "C.C. Rider", and his recording was in most part responsible for the development of the dance called "The Stroll". Lavern's cover of the song under the title "See See Rider" would be her last Top 40 hit on the pop charts during January of 1963.
