CTV National News from CTV Calgary Christmas 1983

My fiance has this old videocassette of the Black Stallion that she recorded over Christmas in 1983. Every once in a while she plays it, more for the commercials now that for the actual movie. To preserve it, I was able to record it using Media Center and I have cropped the movie so that all that is left are those commercials. I found at the end there is a small clip of the CTV National News. Look how young Lloyd Robertson looks... But still with the gray hair... Enjoy reliving the 80's.

Harvey Kirck, who had served as one of CTV's main news anchors since 1963, retired on Friday, April 27, 1984. He died in 2002.

Lloyd Robertson joined the CTV National News on Monday, October 18, 1976, after being wooed from the CBC by a then-unprecedented $1 million salary and a promise of greater editorial control.

(Robertson was the main anchor of The National from 1970 to 1976; he was replaced by Peter Kent.)
