From the inception of newscasts, reality has been a form of entertainment. From MTV's premiere of The Real World in 1992 to sensational news reporting, from live sports coverage to reality TV finales, the defining line between what is real and what is scripted has become blurred. Michael X. Delli Carpini, Dean of the Annenberg School for Communication, moderated the discussion about this phenomenon with alumni panelists in the field.
