Phantom Manor - Strange New Effect - Front View

For whatever reason DLRP decided to add a new "effect" to the Manor. IMHO it looks silly and doesn't make any sense at all. It even ruins the effect with the Phantom appearing in the window on the right side of the house.

Although not visible from this view this effect takes place on all three visible sides of the house!

I admit though the video is much too short to see how bad this new effect is. Just imagine setting it to repeat and watch it 5 minutes and you know what I mean.

Nothing is creepy about this effect! Its mechanical and repetitive and goes on and on without any change or randomness. It is if like they put a lighthouse inside the building. It kills the creepiness the house already had. In one window of the house - where now the lighthouse beam goes through every 5 seconds - was the Phantom lurking but could only be spotted every now and then when a - real creepy - candlelight behind him was lit and made his silhouette visible for just a couple of seconds!

whats weird is that the candel light is on the bottom window but its on the top window too. in the haunted mansion in california the candel light happens like every half hour

That's not very effective. Something I've always loved about Phantom Manor is that it really isn't anything like it's counterparts in America and Asia. This is just too silly. The Phantom was creepy enough without it being chessy.

The ride always seemed to me like a really old horror film (The Haunting, Dracula, Psycho **obviously** and Les Diabolique) come to life. This definately took that feeling away.

Good fail, Disney.

i think the effects is meant to be the either the bride walking the halls or the lights switching on and off by themselves.
