All sounds from DSI Poly Evolver. No effects. Plus a simple video to show how the instrument looks :) ( Maybe not the best but maybe it will do it :) )

  • Hey, first off OP...great vid...second, did you replace the knobs or buy it like this? The knobs I have on my PEK are just the plastik rubber ones :( maybe I can order these that look identical to the prophet 08

  • @Lemure333

    Thanks!

I had the PE version with these knobs. You can replace the rubber ones by buying the Poly Evolver PE Conversion Kit. (Something about 399$ retail.)

  • hey bro this is a hot demo. Love the sounds. Are these Factory preset or custom made presets.

  • @maltcus

    Thanks!

Mainly the sounds are modified presets. I didn`t have to much time to get realy deep... But I hope that this will change in the future :)

  • @esersound1 do you think that this synth will be a great add-on for trance music ?? cause it sounds sooooo faaatttttt I just love it ( I am actually planning to buy an analogue synth) !!!!!! anyway hit me back when you got time

  • @spydestroyer

The PEK is a digital-analog synth. I`m sitting in other music genres and I don`t know If it`s good for trance. But it has 4 voices of polyphony and I think that can be not enough for power trance chords. If you will got a chance just try to test it and you`ll see If it fits your needs.

  • WANT

  • I would think that you would want to go the Access Virus route for a trance synth or perhaps an Alesis Ion or Micron if on a budget. I love the poly evolver, so early 80's sounding in all of its modulated glory, but only 4 voices is so disappointing, especially since in Combi mode, you lose a voice for every new sound in the Combie. what this means is if you are in four part multi-timbral mode you can only play one note at a time..what a shame!

  • wow amazing demo..very sexy stuff :D

  • Holy.... That digital filter is so harsh.. In a good way. Amazing stuff.

  • Excellent work, simply excellent electro music and programing.

  • Excellent work, simply excellent.

  • Great sounding synth !

  • @Lemure333 If it's only the knobs, you can buy them for $119 at dave smith instruments' website. However, I'd wait and see if the encoders still work in a few months. If not, you should buy the PEK Pot edition upgrade, which is 399$ + the knobs for the Pot edition for another $119. No, it's by no means cheap, but you got one of the greatest synths ever built, then ;) I took the full monty and upgraded my PEK to the Pot edition + Prophet style knobs.

  • @MeldMagic a 16 Poly version! That would be nice, and is theoretically possible:

You need 1 PEK and 3 Poly Evolver rack. That's about 5500 USD and probably won't get much cheaper ;)
