The Orchard Music Scam

Episode 47: An organization called The Orchard Music Group has tried to claim copyright ownership to the music in two of my earlier episodes.

I've NEVER used copyrighted music on this show. EVER. Everything here is either public domain or royalty free Creative Commons licensed.

So basically Orchard Music tried to lay claim to music that didn't belong to them.

Not on MY show they're not...

Apparently a LOT of YouTube users have had problems with Orchard Music making false copyright claims to music on their videos. If you are one of them, here's how you can get in touch with them:

@MrDjcity Well, playing Devil's Advocate, if all they are is a digital music licensing firm it stands to reason that people from all over the world, singing in all languages, would be among their clients.

That having been said, language notwithstanding, Orchard has clearly been earning profit for a plethora of music they have no right to earn.

That's not right.

I have a bunch of videos that are of 70 and 80 year old public domain recordings. Orchard Music has, literally, made dozens of claims against me, including 3 more in the last couple of days. I have disputed every single claim. Someone needs to take these scammers down. I think it is time for a better version of youtube to come along. Just as facebook replaced myspace, something needs to replace youtube - it's outdated, inefficient, and a mess.

I have the same problem..but they are not the only..beside them here appears Rebeat Digital GmbH....How ironic is the fact that they claimed how they were owners for all my videos from my country Croatia, especially from 70s, 80s...no way!..those videos are older than they exist and most of videos are live concerts or by Croatian television and I have rights...this is sick..ppl are deleted from YT because the new politics of fake organizations...

They just claimed copyright on my own original work that I uploaded to youtube to promote it. Seriously. They claim my original stuff is THEIRS. Maybe they should be more careful when looking for their new targets, cause I'll sue their ass for false copyright claims.

Orchard hamis, ál arac követelést nyújtott be egy bizonyos zeném ellen. A YT pedig nem néz utána. Úgy látom New Yorkban sem tudnak a hamis, ál arc hangrögzítőkkel mit kezdeni, csak azon csodálkozom, hogy ezt a Yt nem látta és olvasta. Van egy New Yorki barátnőm a feljelentést elküldöm ellenük.
