Watch Thomas and friend Rupert sail Frenesi of Clynder. Read Thomas' articles for Classic Boat by searching for "Frenesi of Clynder" in your internet browser. The articles were published in 2007: CB225/March '07 "Head or heart" about buying your first classic boat; CB226/April '07 "Emotional Journey" about the first year of ownership.

"Frenesi of Clynder" is a James McGruer designed yawl, built to Lloyds 100A1 at the famous McGruer & Co yard in 1961. She was displayed at that year's London Boat Show at Earls Court, where she won boat of the show.

She is a cruiser-racer from that period; the hull is teak below the waterline and mahogany above, and the interior is mostly mahogany. Having only had two long term owners before the current owner in the last 30 years, she's been beautifully maintained and constantly updated, accounting for her current condition.

In this video, the owner Thomas and friend Rupert are sailing her from Poole Harbour in Dorset (on the South Coast of England) to Lowestoft in Suffolk (England's East Coast) in late October 2007.
