  • Gorgeous!!

  • Yes, the chances of having a problem on a cold gun are virtually nil. Subsequent shots loading as demonstrated would be unsafe due to: Vent not stalled / Improper grip on rammer / Lack of gloves / Unnecessary wadding.

99% of all cannon related injuries can be traced directly to a failure to follow proper drill. Why omit safety steps in a video that could be misconstrued as a proper drill? We need to protect our hobby by proactively preventing accidents. BTW, this is a beautiful cannon!

Its happened. I know a guy with just a thumb and a pinky on his right hand.

  • What drill? Also the wadding is not necessary. You're going to start a fire

I recommend that you hide underneath the bed and cringe.

What so dangerous about these guys? Secondly, If no one is down range and everyone is clear of the muzzle at the time the cannon is fired, I can't see much danger. There is very little recoil (maybe 2" if that). Basically the only resistance (minuscule) is a cardboard wad. I suppose there could be a possibility that the powder bag might go off when it is rammed down or when the powder bag is pierced, I'm pretty sure the chance is that of winning the lottery.

  • sweet big bronze tube!

  • Make note, FA... its just a powder charge. He did not load a ball. Its a blank charge. All is good.

  • I was 11B, US Army. A friend of mine was Arty. These boys aren't going to cause issues. Im building a 12 pounder carraige which will carry an 1857 Napolean gun. I see no issues here. Hey FA, I predict one day you will be doing this.

  • Too many safety violations to count. You guys are flat out dangerous and your drill is going to get somebody hurt...
