Aquariums Still Trick Dolphins and People

In spite of the Aquariums pr education talk it is still a Cruel Circus. The true natural lives are not compared to the stark reality of life in captivity. In captivity their social and behavioural needs are not provided. Aquariums cannot even come close to the beautiful ecosystems in the wild their space to swim and dive, their natural variety of food and foraging, their social structures and much more. The in 1990, the Aquarium promised that only 3 belugas would be housed but when one of the three died they caught 3 more. Two were later sent to Sea World. Two of the present five belugas have been locked up out of public view in a small barren pool.

In the Wild
Belugas dont spit at people. Belugas dont slap their tail flukes to splash people. Belugas dont like human hands in their mouths. Belugas dont wave goodbye to people (although they would like to).
Hungry dolphins dont shake their heads, Tail Walk and jump into the air on cue for food. Dolphins dont jump onto stages. Dolphins dont eat dead fish.

Rehab and Release
Marine wildlife is innately wild by nature. Even if they are kept for long periods or born in captivity they still retain their natural instincts to be free.
The injured dolphin was acquired from the wild by a Japanese Aquarium. The Aquariums claimed that this dolphin could not be released but they have her performing all the tricks that the others dolphins are doing (see dolphin on the right of front photo).
Lifeforce is presently urging the Canadian government to release a rehabilitated Harbour porpoise, known as Daisy, to a half-way sea pen not a life of captivity. See Lifeforce Videos: Belugas: Far From Home and Free Daisy at www.lifeforcefoundation.org

DONT BE TRICKED AGAIN! A $120 Million expansion is mainly your tax monies being spent on more animal captives and prisons.

  • And just to add to the training and brainwashing of dolphins. The conditioning includes a whistle reinforcement that the dolphins will hear if the trick is done as wanted by the Aquarium. No whistle means no food and they have to try to do the trick "correctly".

  • Just to clarify that some of the dolphin behaviours are somewhat "natural". But, keep in mind that when dolphins are trained to jump they must touch a "target" at the end of a very, very long pole. Some are expected to reach extreme heights to get the food "reinforcement".

The video states that in the wild the "following" IS NOT DONE ON CUE TO PERFORM IN SHOWS TO GET DEAD FOOD. In the wild it is their choice not on command.

Trained/conditioned dolphin are not smiling&happy being imprisoned.
