After the old "put the drive in the freezer for a while" trick did not work, I thought it was time to attempt some less orthodox troubleshooting methods. Hilarity ensued.

  • i have one of these, but still working

  • I froze my crashed external WD 500 Gig HD for a week. Today I connected it to my PC and was able to back up ALL of the data to another drive!!! SUPER WIN!!!

  • think it might be the gigantic screwdriver that got stuck inside your drive case that caused it o fail but not sure

  • @koldun12 maxtor is the problem. CRAPPY drives... crappy quaility..
