Babak Xürrəmi (Azeri Freedom Fighter)

Bābak Khorramdin (Persian: بابک خرمدین; / Azeri: Babək Əl-Xürrəmi) b. ca. 795, according to some other sources 798—d. January 838) was one of the leaders of the Khorram-Dinān (Azerbaijanian, "Those of the joyous religion"), which was a local freedom movement fighting the Abbasid Caliphate. Khorramdin appears to be a compound analogous to dorustdīn (orthodox) and Behdin (Zoroastrian).[1].
