  • Didn't Carl Story record this one in the sixties or so?

  • @widdyhabb I believe he did, I think Flatt & Scruggs did as well.

  • @widdyhabb I believe he did, I think Flatt & Scruggs did as well.

  • Thanks for posting this! There will never be another Charlie Waller! What a great voice! BTW, in the title, the word is "fields," not "field's."

  • @JannaMontanna you must be an english teacher?? Sorry, I will correct the error.

  • @jeffyjobluegrass Sorry, couldn't help it, Jeffyjo! It's just one of those little grammatical errors that drive me nuts! :) BTW, you've got another one on your video "The Country Gentlemen Waltz of the angel's." It should be "Angels." :)

  • @JannaMontanna ...Wow, you are a real stickler, ok, I corrected that

    one too.

  • The one and only Charlie Waller. They were bluegrass when bluegrass wasn't cool. The country gentlemen were pioneers that really set the standard of modern performers. Charlie Wallers voice was one you would recognize if you were blindfolded. He had a very mellow sound that could sing about any type of music. I'm just glad he chose bluegrass. I have really enjoyed the gentlemen over the years.

  • Reno and Smiley also did a great recording of this classic.....

  • Charlie Waller - the most missed voice in Bluegrass. RIP Charlie-- and thanks for everything all those years.

  • The Louvin Brothers made a great recording of this as well.

  • God bless charlie waller

  • i had the great honor to play dobro with charlie from may of 96 to march 97.

at my dads funeral there was a picture of charlie and my dad. i will never forget those days!
