This was the second and final run against my brother in his Z24 on Saturday August 1st, at the Secret Street Nationals;
He beat me outta the hole by over three tenths, and as a result beat me to the traps on this run too...
After this run, I started nailing my launches, got into the fifteens for a nights best of 15.4!
The DA during both of these runs was down right terrible, right after my sister in law left (she was taping) the DA got alot better, and I was running 15's all night thereafter.
Track altitude: 3380ft
Density Altitude: 4787ft
Grand Am: 16.14 @ 86.26mph
Cavalier: 16.322 @ 85.21mph

  • Awesome run on both! Im out in airdrie and I saw that cavy early one morning on my way to the south end of Calgary a month or so back. Just wondering what your brother was running under that cavy?

    I recently supercharged my cavalier (eco swapped 2000), and wondering what else was done.

    Hopefully this year I can get it out to race city myself!

    neither of these posted runs were near our day's best, iirc his best from that day was a 15.6;

    on this day at the track he only has the supercharger - but now has done a couple more things... ;)

    ecotec swap in a '00 huh? - that's alot of work for an engine that technically falls a couple hp short from the 2.4L Twin Cam ;)

    (but I digress that I know it's a rather common swap)

  • @originalsoundjunky

    Yeah I started with just the 2200 in the car and found an eco donor car outside of edmonton for 400 bucks... basically a drop in.

    Either way I hope to run into you guys one day as both cars are definately sweet. I know that Grand Am is a bit of a sleeper, didnt expect it to be as quick as it is!

  • @theory1330

    sorry, I thought you started out with the 2.4L (I only say this because I have read of negative opinions of

    the 2.4L on jbodydotorg).

    The GA is a sleeper... when it's not running.

    I barely drove it this past year...

    I suspect that the cavalier is currently faster than the GA though... so I'll have to move the bar up on my brother ;^)
