Cases of autism amongst children have doubled since 2003 according to a government survey out today, highlighting once again the direct link between vaccines containing mercury and the brain disorder, as millions more parents give the green light for their kids to be injected with the thimerosal-containing H1N1 shot over the coming weeks.

While research has suggested that the prevalence of autism spectrum disorders in American children was about 1 of every 150 children, a new government study estimates that the prevalence is more likely about 1 in every 91 children, reports U.S. News & World Report.

The study, which is published in the October issue of Pediatrics, estimated that 110 of every 10,000 U.S. youngsters will be diagnosed at some point in their lives with an autism spectrum disorder. That currently translates to about 673,000 American children with some form of autism, according to the study.

@UFCMania98 Uh, I am the parent of an Autistic child. She is 9 years old and she received most of the vaccines before we put a stop to it. Now, we are being forced to give them.

I RESENT someone like you calling me brain dead when the vaccine "theory" wasn't presented until my kid was almost 4. By then it was too late. And now, my state has a law that refuses schooling to my daughter unless all vaccines are up to date.

@TDotTruth Indeed! Everytime I have this discussion with someone who wants to argue that there is such a thing as "safe levels" of mercury, I remind them that as children, we were told by our own parents, our pediatricians and school nurses NOT to chew the thermometer because they contain MERCURY and MERCURY is POISON. Completely logical to assume that any level of mercury is going to be potentially harmful.

@alemelech I'm 19.....almost 20, but I too remember as a 5 year old only getting 4-6 shots. and now, as you said, you get 24-36 shots. last shot i got was over 2 years ago and I sure as hell ain't getting anymore. but many parents are making their 2 year old kid get over a dozen shots a year. and then they wonder "why is my kid autistic? why can he barely make half a sentence at a time at over 4 years old?" these parents must be just as braindead as their children. and it's sad but infuriating
