@GRIDKEEPER :) I didn't bother to read any of the Comments but I have some like that also . They are Laser Etched to Mark the Dealers who Split the Geodes Up and Sell them .Laser Etching is Done on many Things Including even Tiny diamonds .

Check "America B.C." by Barry Fell as ancient writing was amazingly digital. Straight marks in groups and such, a net search might give you a page of the alphabet.
