it wasn't geologist interacting with the goosnake. It was biologist and that's what makes the scene retarded because he should have known better than to play with alien life form.

I think thats kinda what Ridley was trying to portray and I guess it is gonna b hard following these particular characters wen they r all different, there isnt much bonding and this whole crew coming together, its just more about them all getting mixed up in this very dark, dangerous world of bio-logical nastiness, where the main characters and thier personal naive theories are completely shot dwn, and they find that man certainly is not the be-all-end-all of everything even in his world.

I thought the c section was pretty tame. I haven't watched it yet and the small part of 1 scene that i saw of a guy getting chopped in half with a chainsaw in the new chainsaw massacre looked a lot more disturbing.

    I've seen things you people couldn't imagine. That's a prequel i'd watch.

I liked the movie very much. However, one thing I question is the time period from the planting of the DNA by the engineer to the time the humans go to the engineer planet. Evolutionary scientists such as Richard Dawkins estimate human evolution anywhere from 100,000 to 250,000 years, yet the engineers never evolve. They look the same throughout them movie even though they have the same DNA as humans. What do you guys think?

Well I can easily say the same thing for Kane in Alien, with him peeking into that egg he disturbed but absolutely no-one attacks that.

Same with Egypt and the Pryamids, you had the famous Individuals who found these great discoveries, men like Howard Carter, would go dwn in history, but all the men who helped them excavate and did all the work to prep and recover these historic finds, all those particular men mostly were not recorded name foe name in history books. And its kinda the same thing here with Prometheus, u hav mostly ordinary people going out finding very serious historic things, prob unofficially to earth's Govt.

You care bout them alot more, wen u see the whole corporate shading goings on and how they've been tangled up in it all. Its kinda like if u look at the old adventurers in our history, say 17-1800s ordinary men sent out on expeditions like with Christopher Columbus, they were employed to do thier jobs, run the ships, carry cargo, build the camps that were set up. These particular men mostly didnt really care about the big historic discoveries they were finding in the new worlds.

It is quite a hard thing to follow, in its whole set up, the way Ridley has done it, becus remember he has tried to keep it in the same kind of structure, and feel as Alien. I will say with Alien you did care more bout the characters cus they were just workers, they had been on thier ship out on thier corporate run for years doing thier job, so they just did it and learned to kinda all get on with eachother, u did feel that. And then finding they're being used for sumthing else

The main person whos set the mission up is only doing it for his own personal gain, want of immortality which for a start is extremely very delusional, but thats the kind of desperate point Weyland has reached. He does not want to relinquish his power, and he feels he is like a God on his world, with what hes achieved. So its like u hav all these random, individuals employed on a mission they dont know nothing about, that turns out finding man's greatest discoveries.
