@ppitm Finally, someone understands HEAT.I think the acronym doesn't help. The other thing that bothers me is reference to "plasma jet". The metal is undergoing superplastic deformation, it's still a solid, hot yes, but not a plasma.
@BonelloUK Certainly not. HESH doesn't penetrate the armor at all. It just creates shockwaves that vibrate it so hard that the inside spalls and kills the crew.
@sniwy You have no idea how a HEAT round works. The entire explosion takes place outside the armor, propelling a jet of metal into the armor that punches, not melts its way in. The biggest danger to the crew is spall (interior shrapnel) and possibly heat and overpressure setting fuel or ammo on fire. That's the short version.
@NorwegianTrucker hmm, the you should know that only the smokerounds will go 1000 m, not the rest...;) I also had the CG in the Swedish armed forces, together with a FN minimi 249 Para version :D
Its sad they are wrecking that Ram2 tank, that was a nice Canadian tank.

Smoke and HE got a 1300 m range.
Panser 700 m range.
Light got a 2000m range.
Talking practical range that is.
