The oldest oil wrestling comes from Egypt (at least 4700 years ago) then, after conquering Egypt by Persia, it was developed by Persians (3000 years ago) and became close to the form we can see in Turkey. It was probably transferred to Turkey by Kurds (Kurds are Iranian people). Turkish "pehlivan" comes from Persian "pahlavan" meaning "hero".

hey guy this is ahmet tasci l think 10 time kirkpinar champ, l remember 15 years ago he went to japon to wrestling with sumo restler guess what?he won the competition,funy thing he didnt even know the rules of sumo wrestling he is too freaking strong you can even imagine
