During times of economic uncertainty, the pressure on government agencies to deliver has never been greater. Higher productivity, efficiencies and lowering costs are among top priorities. So what are the key technologies that will help agencies achieve these goals? We talked to Bruce Klein, senior vice president for Cisco, to give us a walkthrough. Klein talks about collaboration trends, and how the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), for example, is using a 10 GB network to connect with research and education networks which is allowing them to connect to other agencies to improve scientific research for high-performance computing. Klein also talks about technology as a strategic tool for environmental sustainability, and cloud computing trends in the U.S. government and education markets.
