(Episode 6) In this episode, Dr. Maring takes a classic dish - spaghetti red sauce - and gives it a healthy makeover. Dr. Maring demonstrates how easy it is to make a homemade tomato sauce with fresh vegetables served over whole-grain pasta. This episode also features two very useful chef's techniques - how to quickly dice an onion, and how to chiffonade fresh basil leaves. Find this recipe, and others, at Dr. Maring's farmer's market and recipe blog: www.kp.org/farmersmarketrecipes.

Great video! Homemade pasta sauce tastes fantastic. If you really want a thick sauce, you can cook the veggies separately and use a hand blender on the tomatoes & onion to get it into a nice fluid and colorful sauce. Thanks for the tips on the onion and basil!
