@TheSleepermgm ~~ what kinds of mods did you make!?!
-
@Jayhoyt32 The dealer i bought it from had their wrench do it-took him about 15 min.He wired in the headlamp leads to the A/C powersource.Kinda like daytime driver lights (always on w/the ignition). That got old so i added an inline rocker switch to turn them off if desired.Going on 3 yrs now with no problems even with A/C and headlights on.

Where is the dome light jumper you mentioned? I know you said under the column but is it hard to get to?
-
@mishke How did you bypass it? I have an 03 and just replaced mine. The dealer price was outrageous and after searching I found one from an 04 which looked the same but after installing it I now have headlights again but my dome light is on all the time. Its not a huge issue as I just pulled the bulb but I wonder what else may not be ok.

The panels missing in the trunk is where the communications radio were mounted. The most used radio by Law enforcement is the Motorola Spectra which had 2 seperate units to it. One unit when in the trunk which was the Transmitter and Receiver and the other was the head which went in the front with a mic attached.

How much did you pay for that cause that thing is NICE

Sweet ride. I have a 2002 supervisor's PI with 113k miles. Wouldn't do 40mph when I first got it, but it will do at least 85 now (IH10 west of Kerrville, Tex has 80mph speed limit), but runs rough (head gasket issue). Still trying to see if I can over come the problem with Dura Seal head gasket sealer, but it doesn't look like it will happen. Will be cheaper to put another engine in it than to have a shop put head gaskets on it. We will see, but I still like it.

That is a very nice unit!

Regular mainteience on these vehicles will make them run great and LAST FOREVER!! Durability and Dependibility is what the Vic is all about!

And for those wondering about when i said "FAST" THEY ARE! For a 4500lb vehicle these things can haul some azz, especially out on the open highway, which they were made for. Nascar of the Freeway by all means!
how do these cars do with day to day driving (as far as durability and standards etc.)?

@coleandrobert I use mine every day. I average about 19 MPG with combined city/highway. Driving on an interstate, I can get 24 MPG. I expect the car to be very reliable. After seeing how many taxis are on the streets of NYC and other cities, I'm sure with the heavy duty components on my car and the way I drive, it should go for a long time yet. The heat exchanger between the coolant and engine oil has to add to it's life as well.

@mishke The Toreador Red color is awesome in the sunshine and looks almost deep purple at night. That was what sold me on this car.
