La fanciulla del West - 100th Birthday Commemeration (December 10, 2010)

A video celebrating the 100th Birthday of Giacomo Puccini's great opera, La fancilla del West. Fanciulla premiered on December 10, 2010, at the Metropolitan Opera. Emmy Destinn was Minnie, Pasquale amato was Jack Rance, and Enrico Caruso was Dick Johnson. Arturo Toscannini conducted.

ES VERGONZOSO QUE EL MEJOR DICK JOHNSON , QUE FUÉ MARIO DEL MONACO, NO APAREZCA EN ESTA SELECCIÓN, CUANDO LA FANCIULLA DEL AÑO 1954 EN FIRENZE, ES LA MEJOR LIVE DE ESTA ÓPERA, MARIO DEL MONACO ES MUY SUPERIOR AL RESTO DE LOS TENORES QUE FIGURAN EN ESTE VIDEO.

@Maripudelmonaco Thanks for your comment. I wanted to post full arias in this video, but was constrained by the 15 minute limit. So, I picked Corelli & Tucker over Del Monaco, as I prefer both of them to Del Monaco. Just a matter of taste.

Nell'aria "Or son sei mesi" mi aspettavo di meglio da Franco Corelli...Splendida la Tebaldi per l'interpretazione... ottimo anche Tucker...un video molto incompleto...ci sono almeno 10 tenori migliori di questi...(considerando anche ,che, questi due sono tra i più grandi)...buon anno
