at the end of the day, if you live somewhere like Iran, and the general consensus is against gay people, then you just have to go about your business more secretly or move away. Sure it's not good and it's not equal but it's not changing any time soon.

Well according to Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch these two guys were not hanged for being gay, but rather for rape. I don't believe in the death penalty, but it's quite remarkably different. The 'hung for being gay' charges were, as Human Rights Watch concluded in their report, completely constructed by ex-patriot, anti-Iranian regime groups and then useful idiots like Tatchell were more than willing to repeat them.
