An example of a student montage put together in Fall 08 for a sociology course. Using video montage as a pedagogical tool for introduction level sociology courses has served as a useful way to begin to apply a newly discovered sociological imagination for undergraduate students. Students select a song that they deconstruct and outline. They find images related to the song they selected. This assignment allows students to use music and images to tell a story they utilize sociological concepts throughout the montage along with relevant quotes to add to the project. Students are required to present their montage to the class and answer a series of
questions related to the montage and what they gained
from the assignment.
