The P-40 E Kittyhawk of the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach, Virginia does a demonstration flight. The plane represents the P-40 flown by "Tex" Hill of the American Volunteer Group "Flying Tigers". This P-40 E was actually a lend lease to Great Britain in 1941, which was transferred to the Soviet Union. It crashed and was abandoned near the Arctic Circle until it was recovered in 1992. It flew again in 2003.

The Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach, Virginia has a growing collection of WWI, WWII and Korean War military aircraft, most of which are flyable. The museum has an educational lecture followed by a demo flight on a monthly schedule. P-38 pilot and Ace, Colonel Darrell Welch spoke of flying in North Africa in WWII. www.militaryaviationmuseum.org

The Fighter Factory in Suffolk, Virginia is the restoration arm of the museum and is restoring more beauties to fly in the future. www.fighterfactory.com

  • Nice to see a small airport like this holding WWII Aircraft demonstrations. Do they do it like every month or is it a air show?

  • There's something like this almost every month with a speaker and a plane or 2 flying (3 at the last one I was at). There will be a big event with lots of flights and WWII reinactors next May.

  • I worked for a company that delivered their compressed gasses to the Suffolk airport in '07. Whomever the young boy was, I don't know 14, 16 yrs old. gave me a quick tour of the place & I was impressed for I can talk planes. The variety of aircraft is impressive. What will always stay with me that day is I saw my one & only Fieseler Fi 103 'Buzz Bomb' that they had there. My host said it was found in a cave. Sounds good to me. The thing was incredible. Very nice collection of history.

  • I have always wanted to go to air shows like these, glad to see good people keep these beautfiul machines working right so we never forget the wars we fight. Great Vid!!!
