Nice car... I love boost regardless of what supercharger you go with. Boost is boost.

@n2o898 i have another question if you dont mind, but did you machine anymore head studs in the block for more clamping power to run an F3? what aftermarket block? im thinking about an F2 on a 496 now but believe that an all original 1978 iron block couldnt handle the power - might be looking at aftermarket block options now. thanks ahead of time.

nice

Thanks for the reply!! I will probably be going with the gear drive setup now, Steve Morris is making his own, similar to the supercharger store. My hope is at least 1000-1200HP, low boost and street driven, so this may help on breaking parts. I don't like the side mount, but may use it. Good luck with the twin Procharger build, we both know how expensive this can get!!

@Fulton762 Only problem you will encounter after putting it all together is tuning it and knowing if you have got the most out of it versus braking stuff....I'm doing a similar twin Procharger build......

how much boost?

With those traps / speed / weight your probably around 1030 RWHP SAE corrected.
Im surprised you can get away with one Race Valve, usually getting up towards the 1000 mark requires two for proper air cfm release.
the only side mounted F3 video i could find on youtube. beautiful car and even more beautiful motor. what tranny? ive got a 454 that im thinking about rebuilding into a 489 and keeping the compression around 9.5 for procharging. but thats just words, excellent video!

@evhgl87
Thanks for the kind response. I run a turbo 400 from Harold at Dynamic transmission in Branford Ct. Compression ratio is 9.25 before 24lb. boost. Waabaa

1400 hp 8.40 something dosent sound right whats your 60ft
flugin2008 2 years ago
1400 hp is a guess. you tell me what a 3850lb. car with a 1.295 60 foot should have for power?
n2o898 2 years ago
@n2o898 Would you want to go faster than a 8.40? That would be plenty for me! Is this combo that you have pretty reliable and maintenance free?
mud47 2 years ago
You always want to go faster! But realisticly the car is only legal as fast as 8.50. To go faster will mean more rules, more safety, more money. So for me thats about it. The combo is reliable if you understand that you have to check EVERYTHING! Basicly, if there's a problem, it's not because we didn't check it. This car IS a full time job. This year the car lost 150lb+ and recieved taller gears. We'll see what happens.
