Members of the 1950s singing group The Platters and their founder Herb Reed spoke to Debbye Turner Bell and Harry Smith the mistake caused the popularity of the single "Only You."

  • The original group, visited Mexico in 1959 at the Follies Bergere, next to the Garibaldi Plaza, it was a great show thay sang about 12 songs that evening. They performed there for a week.

    Talking about the beginnins of the Rock & Roll era, only three groups or people went to Mexico: The Platters, Bill Haley & the Comets, and Paul Anka, nobody else.
