Lockdown: Jessica

At twenty-seven years of age Jessica Chelangat is among inmates who have grown up in prison, quite literally. Jessica was charged with murder when she was seventeen years old and sentenced to the death row. She is now serving a life sentence after president Mwai Kibaki commuted death row sentences to life imprisonment. Jessica was locked-up after being found guilty of the murder of her son. Tonight on lockdown: women behind bars, Jessica takes us back to that moment in time when her baby boy died a horrific death caused by her own hand.
