What better clip for my 100th video than the incomparably powerful Loro Piana Tomboy VI, showing us just what he's made of, by putting in another Olympic clear round.

Watch how Rodrigo has to ride him through the first two jumps of the triple, it's truly a testament to his skill that he was able to sit this horse at all!

Clip shown is of 1st-round of team competition, Atlanta summer games, 1996. Rodrigo & Tomboy's subsequent round (also a clean jumping round) can be seen in the following video:

Their heartbreaking bid for the Olympic jumpoff can be seen here:

Tomboy can also be seen in the richest, most difficult, grand prix of his day-- the du Maurier Limited International:

As always, don't forget to check out the crazily-cute baby of the barn:

  • They say showjumping horses have to have that natural 'tuck up' of the legs, getting them out the way, but this guy gets up so much height he can just dangle all he wants! :D I love this guy, what a fantastic unique horse. Isnt it great when you get the top horses with quirks? Fantastic vid as usual :-) x 5*s

  • thankss for uploadin this. like i said...back legs...jesusss

  • i've been showjumping for about 12 years now,

And now i also started to train horses,

I think this horses is so hard to ride! ö

But he is still great though!

  • Im tempted to watch the mules, but a bunny jumping? Anyways im making a progress report video on my dog's training. :)

  • @KIBAfang90

No, being quite serious. Some of the bunny showjumping vids here are amazing!

You should also check out the mule jumping videos. No rider, but these mules are jumping fences 5ft high or higher, and they have to do it from a standstill! No momentum! That takes SCOPE!

  • Hahaha very funny. Are you making fun of me?

  • @KIBAfang90

Then if you like my Tomboy videos, you should check out some of the "bunny showjumping" videos on this site... they can even put the horses to shame!

  • Oh yeah. With that jumping style! Though i wouldnt ask me...i train dog agility. Nothing like horse showjumping. Though agility was created from showjumping.

  • @KIBAfang90

Probably because his career was so short. Had he gone on to have more time with Rodrigo (the only one who could handle him at the FEI levels) in top competitions, I truly believe he'd be remembered in the same breath as the likes of Gem/Milton/Ben/Jappeloup.

  • I wonder why. Hes so amazing, im surprised hes not all over the videos! Oh i see! Thats a pain. Though i usualy keep my vhss dusted off! haha (Im just teasing! No need to get all upset!) Ill help you search for the tape if you need any help! haha

  • @KIBAfang90

I'm the only one on YouTube who has any video of him at all.

It's somewhere, I'd just have to sort through a ton of old dusty VHSs bit by bit to find it.... which is the main reason it hasn't been posted yet! ;)

  • @KIBAfang90

Indeed. I have a few more clips of him that i can add, but I'm looking for the holy grail: where he jumped nearly 7ft to claim the N.American 6Bar record, that still stands today. He didn't even bother to pull up/tuck his legs over THAT! ...and still cleared it with ridiculous ease!
