My search for a shop door required security, durability, not too invasive inside and easy on the pocketbook. I found this concept on YouTube and basically copied the idea. Simple and meets all the needs above. Ended up costting about $450 before paint. An added advantage of the doors is wind resistance when open. Having the doors open to the outside, I thought I would have to find a way to 'lock' the doors open to keep the wind from messing with them. Turns out, they do not move in the wind - and the deseert is a very windy place. I love these doors and highly recommend them.
@nazzippy I did not work from plans, I simply made 3ea 4 foot sections using 2x4 on edge, sheet with 1/4" plywood, add diagonal braces inside, insolate if you wish. Nail or screw securely. Use the heaviest duty strap hinges you can find and hinge as shown. Hand the 3 doors and then measure for the 4th door and build to fit. I used cane bolts for locks on the inside. Maybe I will put up another video showing details when I get a chance. Good luck

@mrmmlittle62 I dont know the brand of track. It was simply called barn door track. Kind of a c-channel with lips. I also bought the rollers that are designed to ride in the track.. Simply Google 'Barn door hardware'

Great doors. I am looking to make a similar setup for my father. Do you have more info on the design and rail system you could share? Thanks
