According to a study 1 in 30,000 eggs are infected with salmonella, and then including the fact that not everyone who eats it will get sick = a very low incidence of salmonella and they're young and healthy. The people who usually succumb to the disease are infants under the age of 5 and the elderly, the healthy are usually bed-ridden with diarrhea for a couple of days. And Natsumi is right in that salmonella is more commonly found in chicken that are sick, I don't know if Korea is safer though

@luli7129 lol its different in countries like asia. america, its really dangerous because the chickens are treated like crap and they dont check health regulations. in places like japan or korea, its safe to eat eggs like that because they care for the chickens more. thats why when i lived in america, i couldnt eat raw egg rice w/ soysauce (its really good!) but im not saying its 100% salmonella free, its just safer to eat raw in korea or japan. so its not really a big deal. ^^
