@313pookie313 this pageant was created in 1968 in response to the lack of minorities in the miss america pageant. The purpose was to show little black girls and boys that there are just as many black role models as there are whites. the competition died out after awhile and was just recently "reborn." Do I see the need for a separate competition now? no, not so much because you're right! there is no need to be segregated NOW, but you have to understand MBA pageant's necessity in the past =)

@707HAMMERHEAD707 Guess you didn't know "Miss Black America" was established because blacks weren't aloud to enter the regular "Miss America" pageant . And a vast majority of the winners of Miss America are white. I don't understand why Miss Black America is such a reason for debate though....unless you really want to enter it or something.

being praised by the whole world isn't enough for them anymore

i personally feel black women look too different from white women for them to be in a beauty competition together

its like comparing apples and oranges

or

country music to r&b music

I guess you can't truely understand this if your not a black woman

but black women are constantly made to feel less beautiful and second place to white women

go up to any random person in america and ask them who do they think is more beautiful

black women or white women

i would feel safe betting my life that they would say white women

you can call this racist all you want

but we are not obligated to feel bad about it
