Driving to Greg Mortenson's schools through mountains in Kashmir

US Mountaineer and author of the best seller "Three Cups of Tea" has built schools in remote parts of Pakistan. We drove to some of these schools in Kashmir through precarious roads.

Greg Mortenson - what a courageous man. I read Three Cups of Tea when it first appeared in the bookstores (the cover aroused my curiously). I had no idea what the book was going to be about. To this day I can see Greg coming down the mountain for his 3 cups of tea.

Please read this book, it will awaken the humanity which is inside us.

Stones into Schools is also a great book.

Thomas Jefferson when he routinely raped his child-slave, Sally Hemmings, or for that matter the "heroes" of the Old Testament who did the same to their child slaves? @AsadKhanCR Inshallah my friend, but do you believe in Sharia Law and it to be ethically correct and the degradtion of women to be something that should be done? How ethical is Muhammed marrying and mating with such a young girl? I am much, much more leanent to you than atheists, as they are the most defiling to any religious doctrine. I do not hate Muslims as I do with homosexuals. I love the people, like Greg shows in the book but do not approve of the sin.

@NothingAtAllXD please read the whole Qur'an, not just one passage. Every statement in the book is in a context. So, don't call others ignorant before dealing with your own.

By the way, the Qur'an is not an easy read. You have to read it several times to really understand it. I know a lot of people latch on to what they hear but the smart ones, if they are going to have an opinion, will try to find out the truth first.

@AsadKhanCR Yes, we need to help these impoverished people, Greg has the concept down of helping the children of Korphe but to say that what the so called "extremists" aren't doing what's in the Qur'an is ignorant. Islam is not designed to be a religion of peace like many naive liberal Americans think. Mohammed and the Qur'an distinctly talk about the smiting of the infidel and terrorizing him along with the degradtion of women (Sharia Law is accurate to the Qur'an.) We should help like Greg.
