Australia —— A BABY has escaped serious injury after being hit by a moving train at a railway station in Melbourne.
The six-month-old baby boy was rushed to hospital after his pram fell onto tracks and into the path of an oncoming train at Ashburton station.
The pram and baby were clipped by the tram dragged 30m along the railway tracks.
Paramedics who treated the baby at the scene described the infant's injuries, mostly a head bump, as "miraculous".
Intensive care paramedic said they arrived to find the six-month-old baby being comforted by his mother.
"It appears that the baby was strapped into his pram which has rolled forward onto the tracks and into the path of an oncoming train.
Fortunately the train was slowing as it pulled into the station. The pram was pushed along the tracks for about 30m.
"The baby received a bump to his head and was distressed when we arrived. Luckily he was strapped into his pram at the time, which probably saved his life.,
He was assessed by paramedics and taken to the Royal Childrens Hospital in a stable condition.
The baby is now back home after being treated at Royal Childrens Hospital.
The incident comes just a day after Connex and Kidsafe warned parents about the dangers of three-wheeler prams on the train network.

Mom wouldn't have even known if the crowd didn't tap her... and the lady sitting down was on it as soon as her hand left the stroller but did nothing !! Christ do we need the moms permission to grab the stroller?? what are the odds so many idiots gather at the scene poor kid... hope he has some strong guardian angels he is going to need them!!
She pulled hitched her pants up and looked to the side for 3 seconds. It could have happened to anyone.... she is just so lucky that the baby was fine.
couldnt happen to any one really if you were standing that close to an oncoming train would you spend those3 seconds hitching your pants up?? or applying the stroller locks?/ thats why this does not happen everyday because you have to care more about your frikkin appearance than your baby.
damn, that would have been horrific to see...! i heard the lady/mother is a junkie, and now is getting money from the media for her story of this tragedy... errrrr
