  • So is this what they do to the Amtrak's running up north to washington, like the Crescent, silver service trains or other trains coming up from Florida. They switch them to the electric engines to continue up and bring them back?..

  • from Washington south is diesal, up all the way to Boston is electric

  • This is a move I haven't seen in a while. The northbound switch is more fun to watch than the southbound since you're not staring into a tunnel.
