Great guy! Used to stop and fuel at our Truck Stop in northern Idaho in the late 70's and 80's.
Hats off to you, Tyrone.

A great tribute to a very special man. From a car salesman, to dragging a whale around the states, then to fame as the "Grandfather of Rigs" i had the oppertunity to meet and get to know him personally. First in Kamloops, and then Prince George, B.C. A drag meet which I organized in the summer of 1981. It was called "King of the Hill" May his memory live forever, in the hearts that he touched. Mine was one. God Bless

If I remember right, Tyrone was killed when the car he was driving collided with another semi on his way to a show. Don't quote me but I do know it was with another truck.

What happened to the Super Boss's original front wheels? It has more standard-looking front wheels now...

My family was friends with Tyrone when I was growing remember his shows as a kid.
I fuond this...Tyrone went to Phoenix to plans for a Trucking Hall of Fame he planned to build with a partner in Tennessee. The museum was to hold all his racing trucks, Little Irvy and pay homage to famous trucks and drivers.
Instead, Delbert Malone said his brother was killed after he fell asleep on the long drive home and ran into a trucker.
"The Highway Patrol said the trucker did everything he could to avoid him and even ran off the road, but Tyrone hit the side of his truck.
