Carrum Approach to Moorabbin and Landing 17R JIO 15 January 2012

This is my first flight for 2012. A nice day and an easy approach via Carrum in JIO. A bit of crosswind from the right so a little left rudder / right aileron on short final did the trick.
Before this I had Melbourne Centre asking me to relay messages to another aircraft that wasn't responding to his calls. He responded to me until I asked him to call 135.7 - then silence. Funny that he responded to me anyway, since I called him on Tooradin frequency (124.2) and he was heading to Tyabb (128.0)! Didn't put it in this video in case someone was getting into some sort of trouble. (And the fact that my brain was in overload trying to fly the thing and talk to Melbourne Centre and another aircraft and change frequencies and comms and write down phone numbers, etc etc.)
Happy flying. I might even get my PPL this year!

Wonder what centre wanted with that fellow heading to Tyabb. If you didn't receive a reply he most likely changed over frequencies, but you could have at least gotten a thankyou! ;)

Thanks for posting your videos. I'm working on my CPL up here in Toronto. You're doing good and it's always good to vocalize procedures, checklists and calls like you are doing. You'll get your PPL in no time and keep the videos coming!

I've actually been asked to contact Mel. Ctr in NSW before, but that was because a Q-Link pilot was trying to get into contact with me to discuss arrival times at Dubbo lol - so it's not always bad news! :P

Looks like a great day have been up there. I was up in JIO on Saturday and it was overcast and a tad chilly - though it didn't stop be having a cold bevvie afterwards ;o)
